RubbaChip Rubber Chippings – 500kg Bulk Bag
RubbaChip rubber chippings provide a colorful, durable, and low-maintenance alternative to traditional wood bark and stone gravel. Supplied in a 500kg bulk bag, these 100% recycled rubber chippings deliver a soft, cushioned ground cover that brings vibrant, long-lasting color to outdoor spaces.
Because the color coating is bound directly to the high-density recycled rubber, RubbaChip maintains its rich appearance year after year without rotting, producing splinters, or washing away in heavy downpours. It creates a clean, mud-free surface for nursery play areas, residential gardens, commercial landscaping borders, tree surrounds, and footpaths.
Unlike bonded rubber mulch, this product isn’t recommended for use where there is a risk of falling from height.
Important Operational & Maintenance Information
RubbaChip rubber chippings are supplied as an unbonded, free-moving loose-fill material. Because individual chippings are not glued or bound together, individual pieces will shift under foot traffic and general activity.
Furthermore, outdoor weather conditions such as extreme winds, heavy rain, and surface runoff can cause loose chippings to scatter or migrate outside the intended boundary over time.
Due to the loose nature of the surface, foreign debris (such as sharp twigs, small stones, litter, or lost items) can settle into the chipping layer and become hidden below the surface. Regular visual inspection and soft raking are recommended to identify and clear concealed objects.
To maintain proper safety performance and appearance:
- Border Containment: We strongly recommend installing timber, stone, or rubber retainers/edging around the area to keep loose chippings contained.
- Periodic Raking: Rake the surface occasionally to maintain an even depth across high-traffic zones and bring trapped debris to the top for easy clearing.
- Top-Ups: Over time, further chippings may need to be purchased to refresh high-wear sections.

How to Install
- Prepare Area & Install Edging: Mark out the area and install raised containment borders or timber gravel boards around the perimeter to help hold the loose material within the bay.
- Lay Heavy-Duty Geotextile Membrane: Clear the ground of weeds, sharp roots, and large stones. Lay down a heavy-duty geotextile weed membrane over soil or lawn to suppress weeds and prevent chippings from sinking into mud.
- Pour & Spread Rubber Chips: Cut open the 500kg bulk bag and distribute the rubber chippings directly onto the membrane. Spread evenly to achieve the required depth.
- Rake Level & Maintain: Rake the surface flat for a uniform finish. Periodically rake the area to maintain an even layer depth and clear fallen leaves or debris.
