Our RubbaMulch® bonded rubber mulch has been specially developed to emulate the appearance of wood chips. This means it still provides an attractive finish to playgrounds, gardens, pathways, etc. but with the additional benefits that rubber supplies.
Made from recycled and shredded SBR tyres, RubbaMulch® is non-toxic and contains UV-protected colourings. Unlike standard wood chips, RubbaMulch® will not rot or attract insects, and does not create dust or absorb water. Please note, however, all colour-coated rubber products, over time, will expose the inner tyre rubber, due to UV degradation and wear from use; as a result Carbon Black within the original recycled tyre may leave black marks on users.
When bonded with the RubbaFlex binder, RubbaMulch® will create a permanent surface that remains in place, whatever the weather. This makes maintenance incredibly simple as very little is actually required.
Bonded RubbaMulch® also provides critical fall height protection, which is essential when installed in places with climbing equipment, such as playgrounds. The critical fall height (CFH) refers to the maximum height from which someone could fall. Refer to the table below to determine what thickness you should order.
Please note: The amount of mulch and binder supplied will be rounded up. The required amount of RubbaFlex binder is included along with the RubbaMulch® so does not need to be ordered separately.
