This silicone self grip edge trim 8.9mm x 12.4mm is a highly durable edge protector which doubles as a decorative trim to improve the appearance of any edge.

When storing or transporting materials, the edges often collide, which can warp or, in some cases, cause damage to the material. Equally, leaving sharp edges exposed on finished products like sheds can pose a potential hazard to the people around them. This edge trim provides a simple and cost-effective solution to protect any edge from damage or from causing harm.

This particular edge trim features a steel core that runs throughout the length of the product. This gives our product two main benefits over standard rubber edge trims. Firstly, the steel core provides a rigid structure which ensures it is able to hold its shape, even under heavy pressure. Secondly, the steel core offers a solid section to protect you, as well as the edge, from any potential impacts. The inner channel of the edge trim also contains a gripping arm which enables you to install this product without the need for adhesive. This enables you to use it over and over again.

We produce this profile from a FDA compliant silicone rubber compound, which is flame retardant to UL94-HB specification. This means it is ideal for use in high temperature and hazardous environments, as well as being approved for contact with food and beverages. The compound also provides good resistance against exposure to fuel and lubricants, and excellent resistance to water, water glycol mixture, salt spray, and a variety of detergents.

Ease of Function

Edge trim profiles simplify the finishing of edges. They eliminate preparatory and follow-up work, and cover sheet metal edges. Furthermore, their decorative effect is often desirable. The edge trim protectors consist of a U-shaped metal base, either a steel strip or wire carrier, jacketed with PVC or rubber. These guarantee a tight grip on the edge, even if radii or bends need cover. Press the edge trim profiles onto the edge by hand or with a rubber or thermoplastic hammer. You do not require adhesive or special attachment aids; installation is simple and quick.
