This EPDM dual hardness door seal – 16mm x 17mm is a highly durable sealing product, ideal for use in Triumph TR 4, Triumph 2000/2500, as well as classic Jaguar cars (O.E. part number BD20500/4).
This seal may also be suitable in other classic cars and larger transport vehicles, such as caravans, buses, and trains.
This product is manufactured with two separate sections, which join to give it unique characteristics. The solid EPDM rubber base gives the product added strength and creates a rigid strip that runs throughout its length. This prevents it from warping and deteriorating, but also serves as a protective barrier. The top section is made from a sponge EPDM material, due to the excellent resistance and compression values the material offers. Sponge EPDM offers excellent air and watertight properties, as well as being highly resistant to both cold and hot temperatures.
This product has been designed, specifically, to be able to withstand a variety of impacts, while still maintaining its original shape. This ensures that you are able to get a lot of use out of the product without fear of warping or deterioration.
We manufacture this product from a high-quality EPDM rubber due to the unique properties the material offers. EPDM offers outstanding resistance to heat, ozone, and weathering, while also offering good resistance to both polar substances and steam. EPDM also has excellent electrical insulating properties, and is able to withstand a range of chemicals from ketones and ordinary diluted acids, to alkalis. Lastly, EPDM provides an airtight and watertight seal.
This product can be cut using standard household tools to meet any size you require, and attached using one of our superglues.
