RubbaSorb is an open cell polyurethane foam with acoustic and thermal fire-resistant impregnation.
Due to the extremely high density of the foam, exceptional sound deadening is delivered and vibrations are reduced significantly inside metal enclosures. With potential sound absorption coefficients of up to 0.4 (25mm) and 0.8 (50mm) for low frequency (500Hz) sound, RubbaSorb is not just suited for machinery and industrial use, but is also ideal for heavy vehicles, caravans, marine craft, music studios, home cinemas, and much more.
Class 0 is the highest standard of fire retardation, as classified by Building Regulations. In order to achieve the Class 0 classification, RubbaSorb has demonstrated it achieves a Class 1 fire rating from BS476 Pt 7 – Surface spread of Flame, and achieves an index of I = less than 12 and i1 = less than 6 from BS476 Pt 6 – Fire Propagation. In short, Class 0 means the RubbaSorb sheet is protected from the spread of flames, and the amount of heat released from the sheet during a fire is limited.
RubbaSorb Class 0 flame retardant foam is exceedingly durable, but can also be cut and shaped easily and safely without causing irritation. Unlike traditional insulation materials, RubbaSorb does not produce dust and fibre particles when being cut.
