ToughGrid ground reinforcement grid is a highly versatile product, ideal for a range of outdoor applications.

Each grid is 500mm x 500mm, which makes it easy to cover large areas and complex shapes. The individual cells within the grid are 48mm x 48mm, which gives you more efficient stability on a variety of surfaces. The shape and placement of the individual cells also aid in water drainage, allowing for horizontal and vertical passages of water/drainage. This prevents a build-up of water from forming on the surface of the grid, unlike other reinforcement systems that trap water within the grid. This makes ToughGrid perfect for incorporating SuDs (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) strategies.

ToughGrid is manufactured from high-quality recycled polypropylene. It has been through an extensive testing process to ensure durability over a long period of time, and is able to easily withstand a high load capacity of up to 160 ton/m², unfilled charge.

ToughGrid works wonders in grassy areas. Anyone who has a grass area that comes under frequent use from traffic, whether it be vehicle, pedestrian, or animal, will notice soil erosion. This, in turn, can lead to a variety of problems, such as the grass becoming rutted, boggy, and slippery, which leads to potential hazards. Typically the only solution to this problem was to remove the grass and replace it with gravel, tarmac, or concrete. This carries its own issues, however, as it will never carry the same appearance of grass and could become susceptible to flooding.

It can increase the strength and durability of the grass and soil beneath, and the open grid cells allow grassroots to spread out and nutrients to flow without a problem, while being able to retain the original look of the grass. Once the grass has grown sufficiently enough to appear through the top of the grid, you can mow it as you typically would.

The usual problem with any gravelled area is the gravel being prone to scatter over a period of use. Erosion caused by vehicle and pedestrian traffic only serves to make the situation worse. Easy to Install and Maintain

Installing ToughGrid couldn’t be easier. Ensure the grids have enough space to sit level with the surface; for heavy-duty use you may want to provide more depth. Then, simply lay the grids down in place and lock them together using the unique hinge system. This will hold them together providing you with a single, stable structure. Finally, you can fill the grid cells with whatever material you desire.

Due to the easy click system, installation couldn’t be simpler. On average, you can install approximately 100m² per man-hour.
