These coir fenders are handmade specifically for us by experts in India. This is because the process they use to create the fenders requires a lot of time and skill to perfect. To begin with, they carefully extract the natural fibres from the outside husks of coconuts to form coir. They then soak the extract in a slow-moving body of water to allow the fibres to soften, making them easier to manipulate. Once soaked, the fibres are elastic enough to twist, and once set, can hold a curl as though permanently waved.
