This sheet is a cork and rubber blend and is a popular choice for gaskets in comparison to standard materials.
Polyurethane resin is used in the binding process to give the sheets higher tensile strength while maintaining compression rates.
Cork gaskets are the ideal tool for a range of uses. For example, assisting transformers, and fuel and oil pumps. This is due to their high compression and shock absorption and resistance to oils and fuels, making them suitable for use in any sealing application. They are also ideal for low and medium bolt pressure.
Typically the material is 70% cork to 30% polyurethane rubber binder. Using rubber as a binder enables the cork to have some of the qualities of rubber, such as giving it the ability to seal and provide chemical compatibility, all while helping to resist acid and weather conditions.
Depending on your needs we stock a variety of thicknesses ranging from 0.8mm to 25mm. This ensures that you get the perfect product for your needs. While all of the sheets provide great vibration absorption, the thicker sheets offer higher compression. However, all sheets feature the same cork granule size and density.
