Hypabond 2 Neoprene Adhesive

Our Hypabond 2 neoprene adhesive is a quality, high-performance polychloroprene adhesive. Used as either a single or two-part adhesive depending on the materials and the bond strengths required. Developed primarily for use with cure 200 curing agent to bond a range of rubbers and rubber-coated fabrics (e.g. neoprene, Hypalon, natural rubber, etc.) in inflatable constructions such as life rafts, dinghies, high-speed inflatable RIBs, etc. You can also use this product in the production of dry and wet suits for the bonding of rubber or nylon-coated fabrics to themselves.

Preparation is Key

We recommend that the surface is clean, dry, and free from oil before applying the glue. This will ensure that the glue bonds to the material with maximum efficiency. Abrade surfaces using sandpaper or wire brushing followed by cleaning to remove any grease as it is likely to impair adhesion.

We always recommend taking extra care when mixing the materials. This usually takes 3-4 minutes to mix by hand. After you have mixed the two parts, you have roughly 4 hours to apply the adhesive.

Apply a thin, even coat of the mixed adhesive to both substrates and allow to dry thoroughly. When dry, apply a thin coat to both substrates and allow to tack off (15 – 30) minutes depending on conditions. Bring surfaces together and press firmly, finishing with a hand roller to ensure even pressure.
