This high-quality P16 silicone sponge rubber strip offers excellent performance in both extreme high and low temperatures. This makes it the perfect product for use in a variety of sealing and gap filling applications.
This 3mm thick strip has a hardness rating of 47° (Shore OO), and we can offer it in widths from 5mm to 30mm and in thicknesses from 3mm to 40mm.
P16 is a medium density grade, around 250kg/m3, which makes it ideal for vibration dampening applications.
Offering excellent functionality in temperatures from -60°C up to 230°C ensures this strip is suitable for almost any environment. It is even able to withstand intermittent use at temperatures as high as 250°C. This enables you to use it without fear of it becoming brittle or melting.
Aside from offering an unbeatable temperature range, this silicone strip is also highly durable. It can compress to offer superior sealing properties in tight spaces, and stretch to ensure a tight fit around corners. After use, the strip will return to its original shape due to the superior “shape memory”. This enables you to get multiple uses out of a single strip.
This material should not be compressed by more than 50% of its original thickness, as the cells may break under such compression. The maximum compression recommended is 30% of the initial thickness as this will reduce the compression set and increase the product life.
This strip is extruded with a skin on all sides so it provides extra protection from dust and moisture ingress, compared to other silicone sponge strip which has been cut from a sheet.
