Barrier Shield – Sound Dampening Rubber

Barrier Shield is our first choice when it comes to soundproofing.

Crafted from a polymer-based rubber sheet, Barrier Shield is free from lead, unrefined aromatic oils, as well as bitumen. This product is suitable for a range of different applications. It is flexible, easy to handle and install, with good resistance to heat and cold, excellent ageing resistance, and fully rot proof.

The weight of this product is 5kg/m² which provides an average sound reduction of 22dB.

Wall Soundproofing

The versatile nature of this product enables it to be used to reduce sound levels as part of a soundproofing system. However, Barrier Shield also works great when it is used between two layers of acoustic plasterboards. The small thickness of this product enables it to be more discreet once installed, compared to traditional foam soundproofing.

Airborne Soundproofing

This product is also great at reducing sound within an enclosed space. Use this product as an underlayer with acoustic foam for the best results.

Installation is Easy

Installation is made easy thanks to the flexible, lightweight nature of the product. The sheets can be easily cut with standard cutting tools and fixed into place using an appropriate adhesive for the surface material. Also, you can hang using nails when installing this product between walls.
